Employee Benefits is a department within SAHO responsible for the administration of the following group benefit plans for eligible employees of SAHO participating employers:
Together, these benefit plans provide group benefits to more than 33,000 health care workers in Saskatchewan. Over 100 health care employers participate in one or more of the benefit plans.
Group Life, Health & Dental Plans
This division is responsible for the day to day administration of the group life, health and dental plans, including maintaining comprehensive and accurate member records, invoicing of premiums for the out-of-scope enhanced dental and extended health plans, issuing members’ annual benefit statements, and communicating with plan members.
Employee Benefits staff members are available to respond to inquiries from employers and plan members, and to provide information about coverage and benefits. Employee Benefits staff members are also available to provide educational sessions to employers, from overviews of the SAHO benefit plans (including eligibility, benefits, administrative responsibilities, etc) to in-depth reviews of benefit plan procedures and forms.
Disability Income Plans
This division is responsible for the day to day administration of the disability income plans, including maintaining comprehensive and accurate member records, processing disability claims, calculating and paying short and long-term disability income benefits, administering rehabilitation programs, and communicating with plan members.
DIP staff members are available to respond to inquiries from employers and plan members, and to provide information about coverage and benefits. DIP staff members are also available to guide you through the application and claims process.
Prospective Employers
To participate in one or more of the SAHO employee benefit plans, an employer must be a member of SAHO. For more information on becoming a SAHO member, see Membership . If your agency is already a member and wishes to join the benefit plans, please contact us through one of the general inquiries options listed below in the contacts section.
